👋 Member Updates · 10 mins

Go around your Circle and share personal updates. Keep them brief and focused on significant changes or important decisions since the last time you met. It's OK not to have one every month. If you have a One Action update from last time, share that too.

🧊 Icebreaker · 10 mins

Invite everyone in the group to share. Keep answers to one or two minutes per person.

What's a leadership habit you've built that genuinely changed how you show up for the better?

💡 Key Takeaways · 5 mins

Effective leadership is about the daily habits that shape how you treat people, how you think about yourself, and how you create space for others to grow.

  • Build your own self-worth first. You can't sustainably pour into others from an empty cup. The most effective leaders invest in their own confidence and emotional grounding.

  • Uplift others intentionally. Great leaders actively look for opportunities to recognize, promote, and advocate for the people around them.

  • Practice inclusive leadership every day. Inclusion is a habit of making sure every person in the room feels seen, heard, and valued.

  • Communicate with clarity and specificity. Vague feedback and unclear expectations create confusion. The best leaders say what they mean, specifically and directly.

  • Small habits compound into culture. The way you greet your team, how you respond to mistakes, whether you follow through: these small choices build (or erode) trust over time.

  • Your example is your most powerful leadership tool. People watch what you do far more closely than what you say. Model the behavior you want to see.

💬 Discussion Questions · 20 mins

Move through the questions at the pace that suits your Circle. You don't need to cover every one — pick the prompts that resonate most.

  1. Self-worth: Think of a recent moment when you doubted yourself at work. Say the self-critical thought out loud, then rewrite it as something you'd say to a colleague in the same situation. What changes when you hear the kinder version out loud?
  2. Uplifting others: Name one person on your team or in your network whose work is underrecognized right now. What's one specific, concrete action you can take this week to put their name in a room they're not in — a Slack shoutout, a mention in a leadership meeting, an introduction to someone useful to them?
  3. Inclusion: Think of your last team meeting. Who spoke the most? Who didn't speak at all? What's one specific habit you could build into your next meeting, like going around the room for input, or naming someone's idea when you build on it, to change that ratio?
  4. Feedback: Think of a piece of feedback you've given recently, or plan to give, that was too soft or too vague. How would you give it differently? You want to ensure that it's a specific, direct sentence that says exactly what happened and exactly what you want to see next time.
  5. Leading by example: What's one behavior you want to see more of on your team: admitting mistakes, asking for help, meeting deadlines? When did you last visibly do that behavior yourself, where your team could see it? If you can't think of a recent example, what's one you'll create this week?

✍️ Write It Down · 2 mins

Take a few quiet minutes to connect the discussion to your own life.

What's one leadership habit from today's discussion you want to practice more consistently — and what would it look like in practice this week?

🎯 One Action · 10 mins

Commit to one concrete action — big or small — you'll take before next meeting. Go around the Circle and share (1 minute or less per member). Vocalizing it helps hold each other accountable.

Pick one of the seven habits that you want to strengthen. Commit to one specific, concrete way you'll practice it before your next meeting and report back on what you noticed.

📅 Wrap-Up · 5 mins

Before you break, plan the next meeting and close on an energetic note. Go around your Circle one by one and finish the sentence:

Now I am feeling… (choose one word).

  • Set the day, time, and location
  • Choose the next topic or resource
  • Confirm who's leading the discussion
  • Decide how you'll stay in touch in between
